There are several good viewpoints here. In Skudeneshavn Old Town you can stroll through narrow streets and alleys, looking at the pretty wooden houses. Also visit Åkrahamn and Åkrasanden; the latter once voted Norway's most beautiful sandy beach. For families with children, we recommend the zoo in Torvastad. Those interested in history may like to visit the Viking farm and the medieval stone church in Avaldsnes. Not far away you will find the festival town of Haugesund with pedestrian streets, restaurants by the sea and a number of cultural events. From the cottage you can also make a day trip to Stavanger.
