There's no direct lake access from the section itself, but it's just a short walk around to Ranginui Street, where you'll also find productive trout fishing at the river mouth - bring your rod. Ngongotahā Village, about 2.5km away, has cafes, bakeries, a small supermarket and handy services including a doctor's surgery, pharmacy and mechanic, so you barely need to head into the city.
Getting Around:
Getting around is easiest with your own transport, and there's plenty of parking on site and on the street. The nearest bus stop is a short 300-metre walk away on Ranginui Street. By car, Zorb, Skyline and Canopy Tours are all around 8 to 10 minutes, Polynesian Spa and the lakefront about 17, Te Puia around 19, Rotorua Airport about 23, and the Redwoods Whakarewarewa Forest around 24.
