A modern holiday cottage of high standards with a magical view of the beautiful fjord surrounded by mountains. This used to be a cotter farm from the 1860s - today renovated as a magnificent holiday spot. The whole farm has been cleaned up and a small harbour with a floating dock and boathouse can be found by the fjord. A steep hill leads up to the house, where the owner's sheep keeps the farm cultivated. The house has a 19 m² open terrace where you can take it all in. Nearby the house, you can look after sheep and possibly other animals in a barn - a great experience for children as much as adults. New lambs are born in spring around Easter and you can be a part of the event. The second floor of the barn is set up with a table, for you to enjoy an informal meal outside the holiday house. The house itself has 3 floors and a built in vacuum cleaner. Three of the single beds are 120 cm wide. There is an extra bed in one of the bedrooms. A traditional porch with a covered terrace is on the backside of the house. The large terrace in front of the house is partly covered with an outdoors fireplace with chairs around to enjoy it. The living room with fjord view and a dining table, has a traditional wood-burning stove where you can bake bread in the old way if you wish, or just enjoy the heat from the stove. The house has a fully equipped modern kitchen and an extra living room in the attic. The ground floor has a large bathroom with whirlpool for 1-2 people. In addition, you can swim in the fjord, 60 meters from the house. By a dock in a harbour below the house there are 3 boats for rent: There are boats available for rent, please see the booking page for more information. ALL BOATS CAN BE BOOKED 28.4.-15.9., BUT ONLY ONE BOAT OUTSIDE THIS PERIOD (no matter which one). You may be able to rent both boats on spot outside this period if the weather allows it. The fjords here are perfect for fishing. A covered fish cleaning table with running water og lighting by the boat house. Fishing equipment can be stored in the boat house. There are tables and chairs by the fjord. 7-8 km to the river Vassbakkeelva and the lake Vassbakkevatnet with big trout. If you wish to fish for smaller trout, combine it with a mountain hike that takes 1,5 hours directly from the house.
