Positive: Although the trip was for sakura viewing, we did not really expect sakura to be right at the door step. This was the first pleasant surprise when we reached the hotel, beautiful sakura trees greeting us right at the hotel entrance! Next, we were impressed by the courteous staff who demonstrated the true Japanese hospitality throughout our stay. The Kaiseki dinners were also sumptuous. The hotel was at high ground so we could see the sea at a distance. The outdoor onsens, both public and private were located in a beautiful garden. All in all, it was a great stay for our family of four. We would definitely stay here if we come to Beppu again.

Negative: The public outdoor onsen was a bit small. I had to wait for my turn as the onsen could only accommodate a few people at any one time.
