Rata is a 1 bedroom self-contained cottage situated on a peninsula of the beautiful Waimea Inlet.
The renovated 1950s cottage has a kitchen/dining area which opens onto a sunny private deck with barbecue and outdoor furniture.

We have five acres of organic garden, fruit trees and regenerating native bush. You can choose your favourite quiet spot to read, relax, or have a picnic. It is a perfect place to enjoy the pleasures of a bach holiday with good books, board games, barbecue, hammock, and endless views to gaze at. We also have paddle boards and kayaks for guests to explore the Inlet at high tide.
Rata Cottage is an ideal base for exploring the Nelson/Tasman region. There are so many options for day trips: for hiking there is a choice of three National Parks (Kahurangi, Nelson Lakes and Abel Tasman), for swimming there are beautiful golden sand beaches and rivers, for cycling there is a huge variety of trails, and for gourmands there is endless foraging for wine, artisan food and craft beer .
With the well equipped kitchen and barbecue you can make the most of the exceptionally good fresh produce the Nelson region has to offer.
