Positive: Profoundly beautiful property surrounded by mountains the fjord, rivers., the canyon. The light reflecting on the fjord was magical. The staff made me feel welcome and was always helpful and kind. This is my kind of property as it has the appeal of a vacation mountain lodge, tastefully and comfortably decorated in the main areas and the large rooms with such comfortable beds. Though Flåm is the transportation hub, Gudvangen Fjordtell is much less touristy and quiet, and still easy to coordinate transportation everywhere and plenty to see and do. To top it off, they serve a delicious breakfast variety, and there is an evening restaurant open, serving near gourmet dish options. And a (pay) use of a gorgeous sauna right at the fjords edge! Did I enjoy my stay? Absolutely, and plan to visit at a different time of year.
