Positive: Such friendly staff and a truly beautiful property! Semi-open air bath in the room was amazing with mountain view! They worked hard to make breakfast available for us on the second morning of our stay before we departed, which was appreciated.

Negative: So we knew we booked a Tatami style room. It was beautiful and spacious, but there were no actual chairs to sit on, and no table or stand to put our suitcases on. Two normal-height wooden chairs and a small side table would have been wonderful, as well as a few folding suitcase stands. The one pillow provided per person was a hard one- the kind that are stuffed with buckwheat hulls. We are both of an advanced age and have back, neck, and shoulder issues, so it was painful and uncomfortable to hang out in the room without a chair, and painful to sleep, and the neck pain lasted through the next day. This could be easily improved by providing two pillows per person (one hard and one soft), or by offering a soft pillow at check-in. There was no coffee provided in the room. 😢 Coffee in the dining hall is charged at ¥200 per cup. We brought our own. The breakfast was in a lovely hall and it was made with care, but for ¥800 it was very basic (miso soup, rice, and a side dish). We enjoyed more varied breakfast options at a small cafe in the Anbo port the day before for the same price. Regardless of these issues, we still loved it.

Summary: Lovely property and kind staff. Tatami rooms could use more amenities and furniture.
